The product did not disappoint, the quality pleases.

Lightweight lens for a light camera - in my case Olympus OMD-E 10 Mark III and Panasonic GX-800. Pros below: Very soft beautiful drawing at the highest resolution. In the portrait, not only the coarse hair of the eyelashes, the male bristles on a poorly shaved face, but also every hair on the female head are perfectly resolved. Has cons: A masterpiece is guaranteed if the subject is in focus. And this doesn't always work out. In dim, "restaurant" light, the lens "breathes" very deeply even at a

Matches the description completely, very satisfied.

Bought in early June 2022. The lens was only announced in April. Compared to the kit's 12-32mm f/3.5-5.6, this one allows you to take photos in almost the dark, the shallow depth of field makes it possible to get beautiful portraits. Took a vacation to Greece, he showed himself perfectly. I am very pleased with the lens. Has some pros Compact, lightweight and fast classic portrait lens (EGF 85mm) equipped with Power OIS. For Panasonic cameras, the 4-stop stabilizer is a definite advantage. The…

Lately I've favored serious µ4/3 cameras as they introduced improved IBIS, HR mode and focus stacking. I really like my Oly 45/1.8 lens for portraits and general use. But my absolute favorite compact is the Panny GM5, which doesn't have an IBIS, negating the speed advantage of both the Oly and the most basic Panny. So this Panny 42.5/1.7 with IS replaces the Oly in my compact kit. Test reports show it's at least as good, probably better cornering, than the excellent Oly. 58 shots, I've got a…

Perfect Portrait/Low Light Micro 4/3 Lens

Absolutely amazing lens! I bought it for my Panasonic G7 and I love the professional results from this lens. The only downside I can point out is that video autofocus is a bit slow on this lens. I'm sure most people use it for photography anyway, and that's where it excels! Shooting in low light with an aperture of f1.7 and a focal length of 85mm is excellent. This is the PERFECT portrait lens for Micro 4/3 mount cameras. A large aperture allows you to completely separate subject and…

Good sharp lens with long effective focal length (85mm.

Good sharp lens with long effective focal length (equivalent to 85mm) for portrait photography. My lens is quite sharp, even wide open, but I usually reduce my aperture a bit maybe down to 2.2 to still get the blurred background effect but with a bit more depth of field so all faces are sharp Another great thing about this lens is that it can be used as a pseudo macro, With a foot minimum focal length, I've taken some good close-ups of quite a few things (of course I said pseudo-macro, a real…

Works well but not for indoor use

I've only been using it for a day so I'll update later. My impression so far: I like the powerful zoom, except that it's meant to determine the point of focus on the screen without actually having to move the lens. The menu item may or may not display the status of the lens on the screen. This is a medium telephoto lens that is definitely made for outdoor use in good light. The shots are pretty good and yes the bokeh is really good - you just have to understand how it works. I also like that…

Small, fast, cheap, close focus and IQ compared to other great lenses

No wonder that dpreview chose this lens as the "Best Fixed Focal Lens (Portrait)" among several "Best Micro Four Thirds Lenses". This is by far one of my all time favorite lenses and it's always with me, usually in the form of a lens mounted on my small M43 camera body in my jacket pocket. Surprisingly, it's significantly smaller than Panasonic's 25mm f1.7 lens, which is quite compact in its own right. The attached images show the results with this lens, along with my old favorite Micro-Nikkor…

Excellent performance at f1.7

I hesitated for a long time to buy this f1.7 and f1.2 version but decided on 1.7 thinking I could do it on another m4 Use /3 in the arsenal if I really wanted f1.2 later. Still, I was pleasantly surprised by this lens, although now I probably shouldn't. I have worked with Panasonic 15mm f1.7, 25f1.4 and 20mm f1.7 lenses, all of which offer excellent image quality. It has a very minimalist style with almost nothing but the focal length and lens hood alignment points written on the lens barrel…
