Review on Olight Warrior Mini2 1750 Lumen Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight With Dual Switch & Proximity Sensor, High Performance LED EDC, Outdoor Camping And Emergency Light (Desert Tan) by Marley Woods

I love this light, but I'm returning it

I absolutely love the Warrior Mini 2. The high setting is impressive. The low is dim, but still enough to navigate a house in the dark. And the medium is perfect for most tasks and gives it a long usable battery life. Plus the turbo is just blinding. Even the magnetic charging is just so convenient it makes me love it more than any other flashlight I own.But I'm returning it. There's a fatal flaw. It's advertised as using an 18650 battery. This might technically be true in that it has an 18650 form factor, but the electrodes are switched around for the proprietary magnetic charging system. And this means NONE of my other 18650 batteries will work in it. I'd need to buy proprietary Olight batteries with both anode and cathode on the button end, at around three times the cost of standard high quality 18650 batteries if I want spares. I've tried three other batteries, one generic, one Fenix, and one LG, and none will work in it.I'm just not willing to do that. I'm not willing to have my 12 existing 18650s rot in a drawer and keep a separate little box with Olight batteries in it. Looks like it's this way with all of their magnetic chargers as well, including the Perun 2. So no Olight for me. I'll try another brand, since at least a couple advertise that their magnetic chargers work with aftermarket batteries.

Pros
  • This tactical flashlight is highly reliable and is sure to provide you with many years of reliable and dependable use
Cons
  • The high performance LED may not provide enough light spread
