Review on MumCraft Multipurpose Sewing Clips - Pack of 160, Assorted Colors, with Premium Storage Tin Box Package by Morgan Gilmore

Useful alternative to pins

Clips attach as quickly as stitching. They add little weight, which can be an advantage in certain circumstances. I sew clothes, darn and knit. I have no quilting experience. They are easy to use with openwork slippery fabrics such as faux georgette, silk satin and silk voile. They also do not pierce delicate fabrics. They stick fairly firmly, strong enough to stay in place (most of the time) but not strong enough to emboss fabric. I haven't left them attached to the fabric for more than 2 hours so I don't know if they can mark something delicate if left attached for a few days. Sometimes I start with staples and end with pins. I use them to mark changes in myself. They don't pop out for the most part, and I like that I don't poke needles. It's not a replacement for pens, it's an alternative tool. I also sometimes use them in knitting projects. The clips smelled strongly of cheap perfume and had a greasy coating when they arrived. I soaked them in hot water with dish soap, rinsed a few times and laid them out to dry. All odors and traces of grease have disappeared after washing. The can was not to my liking, but it was easy to swap out for another can.

Pros
  • Perfect for me
Cons
