Review on 🏭 De'Longhi ECP3420 Bar Pump Espresso & Cappuccino Machine, 15-inch, Black by Jeff Hall

A good choice for beginners. See my update.

That's my first impression. Fairly light weight so you really need to hold the car when blocking or unblocking the port filter. Sometimes the internal filter gets stuck in the car after removing the handle, but this is not a big problem. This machine heats up about a minute before use, but once it's warmed up, you can start shooting quickly. The average double-shot speed is around 22 seconds (something like the 25-second rule). I struggle to get a consistently good shot, although I do my best to keep the grind, volume and pressure the same. I wonder if the temperature is not constant? However, if you use this machine for lattes, cappuccinos, etc., it is a good choice. d Recommend a better machine that can control the water temperature. This is important for good taste. You also need to buy a good burr grinder. Update: I recently converted my Delonghi 3420 to a pressureless portafilter basket. With particular attention to the pounding, grinding, and type of coffee, I now take shots that are as good as any of the local coffee shops in the area. Please note that for a good espresso you need the right coffee. I've found that really good coffee tastes lousy.
