Good pump for the money. The pump worked smoothly, quietly and coped with its task. You will see some complaints of oil residue on the pump, it is checked and drained at the factory but some remain in the pump. I had very little around the filler hole and the brass fittings on both caps were loose. I would take it as normal as the box is scattered in transit, just wipe clean, fill with the oil provided and get your job done. In terms of wattage, I live in Hawaii and my house is about 10 feet above sea level and I can draw 28.0-28.5+ inches Hg. I ran the pump for an hour, 29.921 inches of mercury (absolute vacuum), so this pump isn't that far from absolute. Note that air pressure and altitude affect vacuum pump performance.
