I have very thick coarse 4c hair and I bought this hairstyle to manage my natural hair when I want to sport a straight pixie cut. When I first used it (on clean, dry hair) my hair became very brittle and rough. I stopped using it after the first three sections and ended up with a large flat iron. The next day, the hair in that small part started breaking. This thing had to be over 450 degrees because I've been using 430-450 on irons and curlers for years with no problems. In addition, the two sides of the ironing surface do not touch in some places. It's a waste of money and I kick myself for letting my husband throw the box away before I had a chance to use it.
