Review on Nutrient-Rich Dr. Harvey's Colossal Cockatiel Food: Elevate Your Cockatiel's Health Naturally by Courtney Johnson

Favorite food for my cockatiels

I've been buying these seeds for a long time and can only recommend them. I wish I could give it 6 stars. I started her website and was glad to find her here on Revain. I've been shopping here for many years. My birds love this seed. I spent the QC time with too many raisins, too many sunflower seeds and oversized ingredients. This product has come a long way and my birds love it. Remember that if you are giving your bird more than it can eat in a day then no brand will do for it. They only eat what they want and leave everything else behind, meaning they only get a fraction of the nutrients the formula provides. You should weigh what you give your bird in the morning and weigh it again in the evening. The difference is that you have to tag, give or take something to this bird. It will take them a while to get used to eating something they don't normally eat, but if you give them smaller amounts over and over again, they will figure out that the rest of the mix is food and they will eat it . The more mix they eat, the healthier they will be. The most common complaint: Cockatiels don't like sunflower seeds. Truth? This is the first seed my flock follows. I use sunflower seeds as a treat. When the seeds get too big or there are too many, I pick them out and fill the treat container. All my birds will take these seeds from my hand, even the most timid ones. I have two birds from the pet store, two that I raised and a rescue bird. The lifeguard and a new store bird were only eating millet and oatmeal when I got them. I did a lot of research on seeds for my birds and spent a lot of time making my own mix before I found this wonderful cockatiel mix. Even if you take the time to set it up for your bird, it's worth it. Previous Review: I continue to look for cockatiel food that is comparable or better than this. Haven't found it yet, so I'm still buying it. It contains no artificial colors and flavors. And it's full of seeds, which cockatiels look for first in their plate. Then he has pieces of fruit and vegetables that they can and should eat. I see several complaints about the sunflower seed content and have noticed that the amount of sunflower seed has decreased. My cockatiels love sunflower seeds so I'm happy to see they're still included, but I limit the amount of these seeds in their food bowl. I use this seed as a treat for my cockatiels and lovebird so I pick them out of the food bowl and only keep 2 per bird. My setup is one dish per bird, so that works pretty fair. They eat that seed first, so everyone gets the first pieces of seed in the first meal they get. I also noticed that the amount of coconut has decreased. I miss the big pieces, but they should fit better into the mix. I love giving my birds what they eat during the day and returning home each day to sow and please the birds.
