Yes, it's thicker than your original chair cord, but that's a good thing. Because if your chair is from Lafuma, the cable they use breaks too early and in many places. But it still goes through the hinges, and you don't have to make a double backrest like you do with the flimsy material that Lafuma sells in a $19.99 cable repair kit for a single chair repair. This role fixes 10-15 chairs. One strand is enough, just tie a knot at the ends. I have never had a broken cable after fixing it with a zero gravity chair. This is a very high quality, durable material. It only takes 6 feet to fully tighten one side of the chair, so this will last a long time. And again the price per 100 feet is the same as just a set of Lafuma cables. Speaking of which, I spent $200 twice on Lafuma's top set before trying one of the $60 weightless chairs from the US. This is a much better product than Lafuma in every way. It never fell apart, and in three years only a break in the cord which I just tied in a knot rather than pulling it all the way. I keep it outside 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, albeit in the shade, but it gets wet from the sprinklers every day. Still like new. Bought another one for my bedroom for reading/watching TV. You can get three of these for the price of a lafum. The damping rope is much thicker than the thin ones Lafuma uses. And I only use these chairs for my back and hip pain, so they get used a lot more than my lafumas, which always break.
