Review on SanDisk ImageMate Memory Reader SDDR 89 A15 by Mark Howard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very comfortable, universal reader for almost everything digital.

Some have complained that this device is rubbish, but in my opinion it is a well designed reader/writer that is at the top of its class. It comes with a nice standalone desktop dock and a large USB cable for your main PC, no matter what operating system you use. It also comes with a short mini-USB cable that you can use with the compact readhead to connect to most PCs or MACs you'll encounter on the go. several photo editing programs and a Win/Mac driver that offers "features" such as file transfer at the push of a button. Hm? All of the software that comes with it is pretty much crap, included only to encourage you to buy the real version. Forget the included CD. The reality is that the card reader works without installing drivers. I've tried it on Win 2k systems, Win XP systems and six different Linux versions, and in each case the device showed up as four new disks (reflecting the card type) and worked without error no matter which system I attached it to connected. , and without downloading drivers. I've been using Windows for free for about two years, but I still support Windows clients. This device works just as well on my Linux PC as it does on my Windows client PC and uses no driver discs at all. what OS are you using. The 'free' software included in the box is just for show and if you throw the disc away when it's on your doorstep you'll never miss it. This is an excellent reader that can be connected to both a desktop computer and a laptop. Did I mention it's cheap? Buy one and you will love it.
