Do not buy. The reason why the engine smokes from the exhaust.
The valve cover was causing smoke from the engine exhaust. All pistons and rings, intake manifold, PVC hose changed. Today I put a Dorman valve cover on it and everything stopped smoking. I ask if the seller will help with my loss. Would give zero stars but have to pick at least one.
- The valve cover, or cylinder head cover as it is called on some engines, is attached to the top of the cylinder head to cover the moving parts of the valve train. As a rule, these are valves, valve springs and even camshafts. These parts are constantly lubricated with oil to reduce friction. This oil is constantly being sprayed into this system and the valve cover keeps the oil in the engine. The valve cover is also the access point for valve timing on many engines.
