Love it! for steamers, soup pots and pasta

I bought one when they first came out. I liked it and used it to death. After many years I bought a new one and have used it all my life. Did a bit of cleaning and now can't find my stove (was it accidentally thrown away or boxed?) so just bought this red one, the rest was clean. Well my husband used it for the first time tonight (it arrived yesterday) and he loves it. He's been cooking since my rheumatoid arthritis hit hard. He always boiled water in a pot, then added noodles, then used a colander. It makes it so easy. Simply measure the pasta using the holes in the strainer lid, add the required amount of water and open the lid slightly. After 12 1/2 minutes we were already eating stove pipe pasta with alfredo sauce. He liked the lightness and the speed. After we ate, he came back and made himself another helping. It even cooks potatoes and veggies, draining is easy - once your pasta is done, cover and drain. You only need to wash one container. Not too heavy unless you can lift those heavy pots of boiling water to drain. That's enough for 4 people, I think the maximum. Maybe angel hair noodles fit more and also elbow noodles because they are small. With large ziti or rigatoni, you may not be able to cook as much at once due to the large holes in the pasta. It's PERFECT for a serving or two. No more leftover pasta. They always have freshly cooked pasta with sauce. I even bought it as a gift and the recipients loved it. I pushed it once or twice when the company ended and cooked a 12-ounce pack of spaghetti, poured water to the top waterline, and detonated the nuke. It worked. We basically only cook for two and I wouldn't want to do without it.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Makes me angry
