Not sure it was better than nothing at all

I know these types of foam pads have their limits with regard to comfort but this one has definitely fallen below even my moderate expectations. I have a nice Alps self-inflating pad but it's bulky to store in the vehicle and moderately time consuming to pack away (yes, I know. first world problems). I wanted something quick to deploy and pack up and planned mainly to use it with my cot for a little extra padding and the required insulation. This looked to be a clone of a Therm-A-Rest Z-Lite SOL (I swear it was made on the same equipment with the Therm-A-Rest logo plate removed) but slightly wider so I decided to give it a try. I used the pad for one night and I swear it may have been worse than not using anything at all. My hip was sore and there was a ton of water condensed inside the valleys between the pad and my sleeping bag. The only positive from the experience is that I didn't get cold, but it was that cold so.,I contacted the manufacturer/seller and they immediately issued a refund and told me to just keep the pad so kudos to their customer service.

Pros
  • Foam material ensures no noise or squeaking during movement
Cons
  • If the user moves a lot while sleeping, the pad may slip from the sleeping bag
