KEY POINTS: - It's cheap plastic, no big deal unless it can get the job done but still. - When performing heavy operations such as full formatting the entire drive, writing 300-500GB (or more) of data at a time, etc., the temperature of the hard drive becomes very high, so high that I can hardly touch the hard drive. It will always be very hot - during recording the connection disappears, hangs and after a few seconds it is restored, this spoils the entire copying process and you have to start over. Some time after the loss, the connection fails and you have to unplug and plug the power cord back in for the drive to reappear. CONCLUSION: - If you do heavy/long operations (move big data, full format, etc.), this device is NOT acceptable/good, you will definitely crash or even worse, you may crash/damage the hard drive due to a very high temperature ( this is a warning for you) - if you do relatively light operations (relatively small data, fast format, quick in and out, etc.) then this device is fine. You can handle this kind of interaction with your computer. All in all I award 2 stars. Hope that helps.
