Review on πŸ“± STOON Laptop Stand: Portable 9-Level Adjustable Notebook Riser Mount for MacBook Pro Air, Lenovo, Dell & More 10-15.6” Laptops by Brad Bryant

Didn't work well with my 15 inch laptops and is difficult to use with a free hand

I really wanted this device to be what I wanted, but it didn't fit any of my computing needs. It's well made and very portable, but tricky to install in tight spots. Both sides must be held simultaneously so that the tabs are in their respective holes, meaning you can't just hold the stand in one hand and the laptop in the other. Lifting or moving the laptop on the stand can also cause the tabs to dislodge from the holes and the computer to fall. I tried using the stand on two 15" Dell laptops but neither worked for my purposes. My XPS has a high-capacity battery with a protrusion that doubles as a flat stand. The rib is in the right (wrong?) place to prevent the computer from sitting securely on the stand. I couldn't get it to work in a proper way. Another laptop, the Precision 7510, just didn't fit properly on the stand. The bottom edge of the computer, which appeared to rest on the stand's inverted rubberized leg, did not adhere to the stand. This caused the computer to rock unevenly on its stand while I was typing. When I tried to install the stand it collapsed (probably due to the fact that I moved it a bit) so that was it. I found a use for a Presonus Faderport 8 mixer stand. It doesn't fit perfectly as the bottom edge of the mixer is about 2 inches from the table - I'd prefer it if it was level. But I'd rather try than return the stand. I ended up using tape to hold the stand in place. Otherwise, it will be unstable when moved even a short distance, or the held device will move on the stand. A mechanism (rubber bands?) to hold the supports in place would be a nice improvement while still being portable.
