I installed a picture window and wanted to keep the heat out. I tried to hold on and it didn't go well. I was skeptical with the instruction to use lots of water to bind to the jar. Of course it wasn't a joke. The foil was very difficult to apply and it stuck well. Just use the right amount of water and wrap the spatula around a soft cloth (paper towel). Additionally, to avoid scratching the film, I put masking tape on the sharp edge of the knife while maintaining its hardness. Perhaps a plastic spatula would work better. I removed all the bubbles with ease and now I have a nice window with a shadow and can still see the beautiful sky.
