I use this stand with the amazing Obsbot webcam. Being a motion tracking gimbal camera, it needs to be positioned freely, ideally from an elevated position. The flexibility of this tripod and the fact that it comes with a ΒΌ-inch tripod mounting screw makes it ideal. The only downside is the fact that it's not a gooseneck. What is the difference? The gooseneck is made of metal. In fact, these are two interconnected spirals. Often used to position lamps or microphones, they have one absolutely important property: they can be positioned very precisely. It's a soft metal tube covered with a plastic sleeve. While it works, it doesn't even come close to the accuracy of the gooseneck. It bends rather than moves. It doesn't matter when the object stays in place, but it's essential when constant adjustment is required. Strangely, the small tripod that comes with it has a metal tube, but there it doesn't make sense because it only gets weak. I give him four stars. It works and does what it says on the tin, but I think it would be a bit silly not to take the extra step of using real flexible tubing. Hope this helps with the decision.
