THE WORST GPS RECEIVER EVER!

This junk can barely find 3 or 4 satellites and can't even use them! My Android phone's built-in GPS receiver finds and uses more than 20 satellites in the same location. Garmin should be ashamed!

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Anything to add

A very good addition to your iPads.

Acquires satellites very quickly, works well in 777 cockpit, even in flight. Very good battery life. Very handy, especially when flying over areas where there is GPS interference, the glo2 simply uses the GLONASS signals.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Long wait

Outstanding GPS Receiver

Used in car with iPad Pro and Waze. Works well, but Garmin should offer the GLO with an app that shows the battery level and the reception status of different satellites. An airplane app shows battery status, but it's too expensive to use in a car just to see that information.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Works great - GPS, finders and accessories

Using the Gaia app on an I-Pad, accuracy without GLO is 2+-213ft. With GLO 2 it improves to +-16 feet. Elevation accuracy has also been improved to match the elevation shown on the topographic map. Easy to use and small in size (slightly larger than a Zippo lighter). It's a very affordable way to get a phone or tablet to behave like an accurate GPS device without sacrificing on old technology in a few years.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Updates available

I have not yet tested the Garmin GLO 2 GPS receiver in a wooded area with lots of trees, but I have used it in the Arizona desert where the cellular signal was very poor. my iPhone in the past where Maps couldn't figure out where I was. So I'm happy to say how lucky I am to have paired this GPS receiver with the GaiaGPS app. It's the perfect pair for planning routes or simply recording where your outdoor adventures have taken you.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons

Accurate and easy to use

The Garmin Glo 2 Bluetooth GPS worked great on our week long trip to Big Bend National Park. Before going there I knew we wouldn't have much cell phone signal (I was right) so I took that for the trip. Before going there I downloaded the Gaia GPS map for the park and quickly connected the Glo 2 to our mini iPad. It worked great and we could see where we were throughout the park. It will come in handy this summer as we spend three weeks in the Colorado outback. Very happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Hard to say

When playing Pokรฉmon Go with a non-GPS device.

I bought this for my daughter to play Pokemon Go on her iPad. I still need to connect her iPad to my hotspot for some data, but location services work pretty well with it. There's a little GPS drift at times, but it's a huge improvement. The device stays connected until you turn it off. After switching on, you need to reconnect in the Bluetooth settings. It would be great if it connected automatically. Supports up to 4 devices simultaneously which is great. Battery life is good, I would alwaysโ€ฆ

Failed to send location to iPad or iPhone

I bought the GLO 2 because I sometimes use the satellite signal with my iPhone and other GPS systems on airplanes and while driving in California canyons lose. The advantage of GLO is the use of Russian GLONASS satellites in addition to US GPS, which doubles the satellite coverage. The device connected to bluetooth quickly on all the devices I tried. It picks up satellites in minutes if not seconds, very well, even in my pocket. But I couldn't get the device to send the location to an iPad orโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Suitable for boat navigation with iPad

I bought this to use only with WiFi iPad on which I use Navionics for boat navigation. I recently sailed from Miami to Gulfport, Massachusetts across the bay and ICW. This device matched the iPad perfectly and was accurate enough for my use. I attached it to my helmet with 2 way velcro and even under the bimini I had no problem getting it. It's not waterproof, or maybe even waterproof, so I need to build some kind of waterproof case for it that doesn't affect reception. . Otherwise no problemโ€ฆ
