92 F150 Installation Instructions/Tips

I needed 3 modifications to make a direct swap. I had to drill through the door, but everyone has to, and there are cutouts for 2 screws in the door (use a 1/2" bit or larger). The first problem is that the center screw (which you don't need to drill) didn't work. I fixed them with a file and made the hole oval. Tip: During assembly, this is the last screw that is used. If you roll down the window, you can look in and see the engine through the speaker hole. Use tape or grease on the bushing and you can easily align the screws with the screw holes. First screw the screws into the drilled holes as they will match. The third screw will straighten out if you've filed enough. The second problem was that the sprocket was twice as wide as the old one and didn't mesh with the window guide. (Look through the window) The plastic case had screw hole posts so I sanded them down. It almost worked. but the motor shaft hit the door panel. There is a hole but the wave goes in it so I grounded it. It worked, but with all the changes I had to make for a direct replacement, I'm giving it a 2. Hope this helps and you're able to install it on the first try, not 6 or 7 like I asked for.
