Swapping the button side worked great with the OEM back. It's hard to deal with.
I was able to replace the button sides but I couldn't use the back. For some reason with the new rear end, the key would insert and unlock the steering wheel, but wouldn't actually turn to start the car. I have found that using the OEM back with the front on this product works and I have no idea why. At least the buttons look new! It's also very difficult to snap and align the two sides properly once the battery and chip are in.
