Poor Craftsmanship - Measuring and Marking Tools

Recently there has been a greater propensity for hand tools for finer and more refined woodworking. I looked at various high end instruments thinking it would improve my accuracy and bought my first Starrett product and was completely disappointed. I have to agree with other reviewers that Starrett products aren't what they used to be. The quality control department should have rejected it. It's off center, crooked, the edges are painfully sharp. Because the tool was made crooked, there is a piece of metal where the two levers meet that has not been finished properly so that the square shank is not tight. Instead of just returning the part, give them another chance to see if it's an anomaly. I will write a sequel after the replacement.

Cons
