Does the job! in measuring and marking tools

I've watched several videos showing how to make jigs for finding the center of a dowel or angle. Although I approached, I could not find the true center. Nothing to lose for the price! This product is dependable and dependable - finding the midpoints is no longer a problem. It was worth the money!

Quality tool Starrett

As with any Starrett instrument, this is a quality instrument. Will be mailed in an envelope with a standard Starrett box. I think the price is fair for what it is. From time to time you will need to check and adjust the center head. You can check the accuracy of the centering head by taking a machined disc and placing the centering head on the disc as usual. You then mark where the ruler is and then rotate the center head 180 degrees. If both lines match, the centering head is accurate…

Poor Craftsmanship - Measuring and Marking Tools

Recently there has been a greater propensity for hand tools for finer and more refined woodworking. I looked at various high end instruments thinking it would improve my accuracy and bought my first Starrett product and was completely disappointed. I have to agree with other reviewers that Starrett products aren't what they used to be. The quality control department should have rejected it.
