I am a big fan of VTech products. I have two VTech cordless phones that I have used for many years and really like. I need a wired phone that will work even if there is a power outage. When I saw VTech, I naturally chose VTech based on my previous experience with the brand. I also ordered a longer phone cord and cord untangler for my phone. Unfortunately, the longer handset cord cannot be used as one end is permanently attached to the base of the phone. If there is ever a problem with the cable, you have no option to replace it with a new one. I was able to use a cord untangler. The line that goes to the wall outlet is also permanently connected, which means that if something happens to that line, the phone is unusable. If you need to connect a jack more than a few feet away, you will need to purchase a jack to increase the line length. I'll keep it as I only need it in case of a power outage, but I wouldn't choose it as my main phone. VTech needs to redesign this. Otherwise, buy a disposable phone in case something happens to the phone cord or line.
