This remote was no better than the one I replaced it with. I suspected it wasn't. My experience with Vizio TVs so far is that the TV is good but the remote control is very poor quality. As with this remote, the backlight comes on and stays on. The only way to get the remote to work is to take the battery out and put it back in. When the backlight turns off, the remote control will still work for a while. This process has to be repeated over and over again.
