The stem looks and feels like a quality piece. However, the surfaces that will be on top of the steering bearing and under the top cover are not in the same plane. This means that the pressure on the bearing is uneven and there is unwanted play. This is not a blemish. In fact, this is the most important parameter for stems. Seeing this I ordered 6 more stems to get lucky with at least one but they all turned out to be uneven. I keep one and will process it. I have a lathe and at this stage it's quicker than other brands to order and measure. But it's very annoying and definitely not for everyone. By the way, all of the above concerns apply to a decent bike that matters to you. If you buy it on a $200 bike, the stem will work as is.
