Review on πŸš— Hella H71010321 Optilux 2020 Dual Beam Halogen Fog/Driving Lamp Kit, with Black Housing, 12V/55W by Mike Snedeker

Great price and very compact combined fog and driving

Solid aluminum bodies and glass lenses should be durable, barring stone chips of course. It's easy enough to install, but if you get it right, you can expect to spend most of the day running all the cables. Use M6 or 1/4" screws to attach the brackets. Although the screws are included, I bought the stainless ones from Ace to keep the rust mites out. One thing I don't like is a switch to turn off the fog. I used separate aftermarket switches so I could use both, fog lights synced to low or low beam and driving on high or high beam. However, on my Mercedes, the low beams still stay on when the high beams are on, so this could be a moot point. I have fitted mine with 100 watt bulbs which were purchased separately and may be illegal (technically) in some jurisdictions and they are very bright. Some people have commented on the condensation in the bulbs. I wouldn't worry too much as I suspect the heat from the bulbs will take care of that after a bit of driving. Now I just have to wait until dark to even them out.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Expensive
