These curlers are flimsy. It was very frustrating that the curler shaft suddenly broke off the clasp just as if your hair was rolled up to your head. There was nothing left but to push the hair to the head with one hand and grab the missing part from the ground. They then had to try to put the two pieces together without the hair falling out of the curler.
