One star for the company. Four stars for light. I have owned L&M products since 2012. I find them to be of good quality and value for money. My last one didn't last as long as I expected but it was mistreated so I decided to stick with this brand. I bought two new Vispro 1000s to replace my two old headlights (I like to ride with two handlebar mounted headlights). I bought them from another online bike shop where I had credit that I had to cash out. After they arrived I immediately started charging them. I noticed that the green charge indicator on one of them never showed a full charge, it just kept pulsing. I went to the L&M website and asked if they would exchange it. This was followed by a series of emails, which I've typed verbatim below. I think I deserve saints for putting up with this! In general, everything was like this: 1. Me: the traffic light is not green, is there something wrong? 2. You: Please do a runtime test by running it at high speed until it stops and see how long it runs. Don't forget to put a fan on it.3. Me: Okay, but the execution time is not an issue4. Me: I took the test. It worked for 1.5 hours.5. You: Then everything is fine, except for the loading indicator. But we "can return this light and send you a replacement". We understand the inconvenience. Here is the RA number and return instructions. Meanwhile, we will send you a new one. [So far, so good. but wait, there's more]6. Me: [a few days later] I got a new one and am sending the old one back. Please email me a shipping label as I do not have to pay anything to return your defective product. She: The light is right. Just because the green light isn't working properly doesn't mean there's something wrong with it. 8. Me: The charging indicator does not work. He is defective. Please send a label.9. She: The light is right. Please send back 10. Me: If the charging lamp does not work, the lamp is defective. Please send the label and I will send it back to you.11. You: [literally] I spoke to the manager and this time we're making an exception like we did with your light. Don't count on exceptions in the future. Our warranty policy is our warranty policy. Thank you. Brian So. I suspect they only guarantee parts that work, not parts that don't. If you don't think a company can be so clueless these days, here's the email pipe. Read from bottom to top. ************************** Kevin, I've spoken to the manager and this time we're making an exception. like we did with your light. Don't count on exceptions in the future. I don't see how anyone can say it's ok when it actually doesn't work properly. If the charging light isn't constantly on while charging, I can't tell if I have a fully charged lamp. This is the definition of a defect. It does not meet its performance criteria. I don't want to keep this light but you have to make up for the high price you charge for these high quality products. **** On Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 4:33 p.m., the Light & Motion Support Team <seva@lightandmotion.com> wrote: Kevin, the light is working. Below that, you have to keep repeating that the display never shows a full charge. I bought my first L&M Vis180 from you in 2012. I still have both and the second. I also have an Urban800 (still working) and an Urban1000 (frustrating relatively early failure). It was the age of 800 and the failure of 1000 that made me buy these two Vispro 1000. Please send a new Vispro1000 to the address below with a return label and I will send it back to you. I've attached a review I wrote in 2015 for my first Vis180. **** On Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 03:30, the Light & Motion Support Team <seva@lightandmotion.com> wrote: Hi Kevin, thanks for your reply! The lamp appears to be working well except the battery indicator does not show a full charge. The Vis Pro 1000 charges in 6 hours with a 0.5A charger, 4 hours with a 1A charger and 2.5 hours with a 2A charger. Alternatively, we can return this flashlight and give you one send replacement. ****Tuesday 09 November 2021 23:40 Kevin> wrote: I ran a runtime test this morning and it ran at full power for about 1 hour 40 minutes before shutting down. I would like you to run a runtime test to check the battery health. This test should be conducted indoors to provide a controlled environment for the test. You will need a timer and a small fan to keep the lantern cool. 1) Allow the flashlight to fully charge until the indicator turns green. 2) Put it in front of the fan, start the timer and turn on the light. (press once, first setting).3) The lighting should be in high mode for 1 hour 30 minutes +/- 10%. You don't have to look at the light all the time. Check it every 15 minutes and then every 10 minutes for the last 1/2 hour. If the light is within the specified runtime, your light is working properly. , at 11:30, Kevin > wrote: Good morning. In the order below you can see I just bought 2 Vispro 1000 lights. One of them charges solid green but the other doesn't go beyond flashing green. Do you mind? Can you exchange this?
