I've never used a key fob case but sometimes my keys fall off and I think I'll try before one of the drops becomes a broken key fob. They were easy to put on, they definitely offer protection and really don't add thickness to the fob. I've seen other reviewers say they had a hard time pulling them out of their pockets, which I didn't experience. A bonus for me is that the buttons are easier to see than on the remote itself. I went with red buttons on a black background and really liked the red one. Finally, I like the softer feel of the lid compared to the hard plastic keychain.
