Review on πŸ’» AMD Ryzen 5 2400G APU with Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics - YD2400C5FBBOX by Eric Dubreuil

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lots of issues with Windows 10

I had to replace a tiny Intel NUC when the 7th gen i5 system wasn't enough to handle 4k video. I also needed something in a larger case as I also had the opportunity to try out the new CPU liquid cooling. I didn't know if it would have enough graphics for 4k on its own, so I built a system where I could add a graphics card if needed. Luckily, this seemed to help and video playback went smoothly. Unfortunately the first one I had was problematic, constantly crashing and freezing. Revain replaced it with no problem, but the problem stayed with the new processor. I even swapped out the RAM and motherboard but the problem persists. All I use it for is a media center running Windows 10. I don't play on it, I have a high end dedicated system for my Oculus Rift. that I use for games. And after all this hassle I finally figured out that there are some AMD and Windows 10 issues and a list of things to fix. Problem. So far I haven't completely solved it, but at least I was able to get everything working for about 20 or 30 minutes without crashing. Apparently setting the 2400 RAM I had to 2133 helped a lot. I'll also have to go through other possible fixes to see if I can completely resolve this issue, but while this does a great job of playing 1080 and 4K videos, it unfortunately lacks the reliability of Windows 10, which simply falls short without problems running. So if you start getting Video_TDR_Failure messages, look for solutions. There are many people with similar problems who have potential solutions.
