Review on ๐Ÿšด Enhanced Visibility and Safety: CAT EYE Omni 3 LED Bike Light with Convenient Mount by John Hall

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Almost perfect except for a small defect

I ordered it for my road bike. Instead of mounting it to my seatpost, I attached it to my saddlebag that sits under my saddle. The taillight is bright and has several different modes (fast flashing, slow flashing or continuous flashing) visible at night. Haven't ridden in the rain yet, so I can't say how well it will handle bad weather. The light is excellent. It's bright, fairly light even with two AAA batteries. Easy to switch on/off even while driving/on the go. Why 3 stars and not 5 stars? I originally bought a combo pack that came with a headlight and taillight. While driving, the taillight (which was attached to my saddlebag under the saddle) went out. This happened several times in the first week after the element was installed. I lost my first cateye taillight while riding the bike trails near where I live. I typically ride 30-40 miles straight, and the bike paths in my area are very well paved (i.e. not bumpy or uneven). After the taillight was replaced I decided to alter the clip by wrapping it around. a small piece of tape to "fix" the taillight when attached to the saddlebag. I'm sure a "hack fix" will suffice, but I'd like Cat Eye to make a plastic clip that will somehow keep the light from slipping off the pack, be it a backpack or saddlebag.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
