Great tool when sequencing any kind of prokaryotic or eukaryotic genome
I like that it is very accurate in gene detection for both bacteria and human cells.
It has been used to help identify new viruses as well as investigate how they interact with their host cell's genetic material. The software can be difficult to use at times but if you have experience using other similar programs (like CLC) then this should not pose too much difficulty. Using PacBio data we are able to better understand what proteins bind together within our bacterial pathogens which helps us develop more effective drugs to fight them off.

- Can determine sequence information from single molecules, allowing scientists get an exact copy without having errors introduced by replication.
