Bought to connect to my Nikon P1000. Sounds great when it works, but in most cases one of the audio channels will be completely muted or toggled on and off during tracking. Malfunction of the Rode 3.5mm cable or the jack that the 3.5mm audio cable is connected to. When I press and hold the 3.5mm cable properly, both channels of audio are recorded and work fine. But any movement or wiggle of the cable, and one of the channels will shut down, rendering it completely unusable. Both channels work great when connected to a computer via USB. I have just emailed Rode Customer Service and will keep you informed of the updates. This gets 1 star until this issue is fixed. Update: Rode's customer service is fantastic. I sent the mic to a Rode Service Center in California and they quickly shipped me a brand new replacement mic in the box. Excellent work!
