I've always wondered how harmless those heavy plastic water filters are. I'll throw them in the recycling of course, but I'm not entirely sure. This new pitcher uses a much smaller filter. It is very light and with minimal packaging. All well and good, but what does water taste like? So far the taste is great. I live in a small town and the water quality isn't perfect. So filtering is a must. This pitcher and filter do a great job of providing fresh, cold water that tastes great. Finally how does it work. Well, it fills up quickly and smoothly enough for a jug of pre-filtered water. The spout seems to be well constructed to dispense water smoothly without dripping everywhere like some pitchers tend to do.
