Ideal for end/pre-season maintenance

This product is excellent for [preventive] maintenance. At the end/beginning of the season I do a thorough cleaning and check every inch of the refractory panels. Any dent/crack will be repaired with this method. One method that works well for me is to put as much as you need in a ziplock bag, soak/heat it by squeezing it with your hands, poke a small hole in the corner and then just apply to each area, which needs to be repaired (as icing on the cake). Then I just use something as simple as a tongue depressor to get into the crevices and smooth them out. This helps dampen the area with a damp paper towel before applying. Liberally overlapping and feathering the edges with a gloved finger always ensures a secure grip and extends the life of the refractory. I let it dry for at least a few days and then use a few rounds of kindling before putting out the last/first fire of the season. I line the rest in the tub with a plastic bag and squeeze all the air out. I wish it was in a smaller size or in a sealed tube. This bath should last for the life of the refractories. I have never used this product for a large scale project/repair but for prefab fire pit maintenance it is great. Good product.
