Review on πŸ” Carson LumiLoupe Plus: Focusable Stand Loupe Magnifiers for Enhanced Viewing (6x, 10.5x, 17.5x Power Options) by Nicole Griego

Revainrating 5 out of 5

True 6x magnification

Not bad for plastic looks. The advertised 6x magnification appears to be accurate, contrary to the exaggerated claims made by many Chinese loupe sellers. Carson's LumiLoupe Plus series loupes have the advantage of being focusable, while many of Carson's other stand loupes have a fixed focus. Good magnification for use with microprinting in the two-volume Oxford English Dictionary Unabridged English Dictionary, which includes a rectangular magnifying glass. This allows me to see individual LCD pixels on my high-resolution Dell LCD monitor. Quite large as the clear plastic base is 4.5 inches in diameter and lets in plenty of light. Works best when the eye is as close to the lens as possible for maximum field of view and minimal distortion. In other words, it is intended to be used as a low magnification magnifier, not a reading magnifier. This applies to almost all magnifier type magnifiers. For normal book reading magnification it is better to use a single lens loupe with lower magnification or a Fresnel lens loupe unless higher magnification is not required.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
