I bought this mic primarily for gaming as I no longer wanted to use my gaming headset. Use it in conjunction with Apple headphones on my PC. The entire mic is plastic except for the metal grille. The stand isn't large and one of the legs is looser than the other two, which isn't a huge issue as it's still pretty strong. The USB cable is long, but you'll probably need a longer one if you're going to use it by hand. The overall sound is good and way better than your standard gaming headset or even a high end headset like my Logitech G635. I bought it on sale for $18 but at a retail price of $30 I'd spend a little more to get something better, but if you can get it cheap and don't need it for something important then it's not too bad. .
