Not usually good enough, maybe buy good for some cheap applications

I'm disappointed. I really wanted it to work and tried to adapt it to my needs but it's not enough. I don't usually write reviews, but I was so disappointed with this product that I felt compelled to share my experience. GOOD: 1st light. Connect your devices and you're ready for basic computer switching. Tested on Windows10 and Ubuntu.2 machines. relatively low price for the number of supported PCs. Each USB port supports both a keyboard and a mouse, giving you a true 8 PC ports. MEH: 1. When changing from one machine to another, the switch beeps very loudly. It didn't bother me too much, but it might be a problem for other users. BAD: 1. Not the same product description 1 week after purchase! I bought the following: 8 port USB switch, USB sharing switch synchronous controller with 8 cable sets, 1 K/M control 8 computers, one-key switching for Windows/Linux/Unix/Dos/Netware system The seller's product description now guides me to the following: HDMI KVM Extender 4K@30Hz, KVM over TCP IP Supporting Gigabit PoE Network Switch up to 383ft Cat6 to HDMI Receiver (BLACK-383ft KVM Extender (Receiver Only)) from ShuOne2 . The switch inadvertently blocks signals from the keyboard/mouse input device to the target computer. I'm using a five button mouse, but only left/right/middle/wheel scrolls through the toggle. Sometimes keystrokes are not registered by the target system. Sometimes fast mouse wheel scrolling will cause the machine to skip part of the scrolling.3. The product comes with no documentation or instructions - just a sheet in Chinese. The seller has very little online presence; couldn't find any documentation online. In addition to the buttons on the Switch, I verified that a few keystrokes toggle the display: - Scroll lock + Scroll lock + r: toggle all (control all devices at once) - CTRL + arrow key: select neighbor PC numbered 1 -8 connectors. Also, when selecting a screen, you must release the CTRL key between each selection, not just the arrow key.4. Keyboard shortcuts to select the active PC are very annoying! These key combinations don't appear to be reconfigurable (hardwired to the Switch?). If you even use CTRL + arrow key in one of your applications now and then, you will get very annoyed when you hear the beep that comes when switching computers and have to wait two seconds to return to your computer/application. 5. The original description of the product said that it can automatically switch from one screen to another by moving the mouse to the edge of the screen. Couldn't figure out how to do this, especially given the lack of documentation.
