We read rave reviews / reviews that promise music lovers Hi-Res quality sound with Sony's LDAC codec. Forget Sony's marketing tales about Bluetooth sound quality, any modern Bluetooth headphones produce sound worse than CD quality (and with any codec). As for the LDAC codec advertised by Sony, you have to be a very, very good music lover to notice its difference in sound (in maximum quality) from the aptX HD codec, and at the same time you lose all sound quality settings, i. E. listen to music according to the taste of the headphone manufacturer. If you were able to find music in the LDAC codec, then the default connection to the audio source is 330 kbps, which corresponds to the quality of the aptX codec. If you are very, very lucky and have found a sound source with max. quality for LDAC (990 kbps), the sound quality will still be lower than CD quality. At the same time, at max. quality (990 kbps), you lose the stability of the connection (which, again, will negatively affect the sound quality). And the difference in sound with different codecs is explained simply - by different sound profile settings, and here the equalizer will help you. If you consider yourself a music lover and want to listen to music in HI-FI quality, then buy good expensive headphones (and definitely not Bluetooth) and listen from a high-quality sound source (and not from a cheap smartphone). Because Sound over Bluetooth is much worse than wired in all respects. My opinion is that the Sony WH-XB900N wireless headphones do not meet modern requirements for functionality for a long time, I do not recommend buying them (and their similar ones from Sony). The price tag is very high, the functionality is outdated, we overpay for the brand, not for the quality. If all the disadvantages described above are insignificant for you and you donβt have a problem with money, then otherwise this is a good choice for headphones. After a sufficiently long time of use, I give them a price / quality rating - 2 points. At the same time, I will not say that these are bad headphones, but they are definitely not worth their money.
