Review on 🧡 Aurifil A1050-2692 Mako Cotton Thread Solid 50WT 1422Yds Black – Premium Quality Black Cotton Thread for All Sewing Projects by Tara Ford

Excellent Thread

I switched to Aurifil After trying several brands of 100% cotton thread for a few projects, I was frustrated with thread wear, breakage and lots of lint in the machine. I spent too much time ripping the seams where the thread broke between them leaving a jagged line. (And no, it's not a tension issue - tried all possible combinations - it was THREAD.) I invested in my first Aurifil roll (and for my budget it's really an investment) without really expecting anything special. different but highly recommended by many ladies in the online quilting group. Now I understand why! Aurifil works very well with my Brother sewing machine. I haven't had any tangles, breakage, or abnormal linting while using Aurifil. My only real complaint about it (aside from being very expensive) is the difficulty in getting the colors right. For those of us who cannot get this yarn locally and have to order online, it can be VERY difficult to get the color we want. Aurifil offers a chart of thread colors, but they're clearly inlaid in gold for the price they're asking. You would think they would make the tables very accessible so customers could buy MORE yarn from them. You forget the hassles of online shopping with differences between monitor and display. I tried using the parts of the color chart that are visible and still got two almost identical skeins. I can't afford to buy all the colors they have so this was a disappointment. So the quality is great and I can recommend it. Buy in person if you can. I just want Auriphile to be able to see things from my side of the screen.
