I worked with yarn that I thought was split. But recently I saw Stephanie's It's Crochet O'clock video and she said there is no such thing as "split" yarn. She said if you're having trouble with a particular yarn, change your tool. I looked at my hook and realized I'm using an offset hook in this project. I went through the rest of my hooks looking for one of the same size but built in. Don't you know, at like 30 or more hooks, I wasn't the right inline size. So I bought this hook to see if there is a difference. I was absolutely amazed that when I got this needle and started using it with this yarn, the splitting problem was almost completely gone. Sometimes I have a stitch that's trying to separate and I'll just back up and repeat the stitch. But that happens very rarely. I totally fell for this catch and Stephanie's statement that if you have problems with the yarn you are working with, you should change your tool. I will be buying more of this hook style. The only issue I have is that the molded handle is a bit far from the hook shank for my small hands. If they could get it a little closer to the tip of the hook that would be just perfect!
