Just installed so no word yet on how well it stops shock. I ordered this type by mistake as my Aprilaire 800 comes with a 1/4" copper cable and this unit comes with 3/8" M/F fittings. The 1/4" unit I found said it was only good for 60psi, which is a bit low for me , it said 250psi See the picture of the adapters purchased in HD to make it fit, just cut the existing copper a few inches below and use some of the pieces in 2 bags to make new connections in the parts bag labeled LFA-109 and LFA-157 Yes, the copper tubing is covered in a black wire guard as it snakes behind the stove.
