When the pandemic hit, Comicon suddenly had fewer webcams than non-nerds. After they finally went on sale, I received the Logitech C505. Only 720p, but it worked in zoom. I couldn't help but notice that the colors were washed out, and the lighting in my office didn't help either. I thought about buying one of these ring lights but it would use up one of my much needed USB ports so I gave up. Then I noticed that you can get a webcam and ring light combo. The JIGA is no more expensive than the C505, but has a resolution of 1080p and includes a backlight. Decided to give it a try. Doesn't matter! Even without light, the picture is much clearer, with better colors. And does not burn another USB port for a separate light. It's also a wider field of view, which may or may not be an advantage depending on how inviting your workspace is. All in all a real upgrade for just $36. What!
