This product will work in a 2001 4Runner. But that's all. You cannot mount a light sensor/transponder above this device. big face. It should also be noted that the keys are NOT comparable to Toyota, so you cannot recode them on your chip key. So right now I have an ignition key and a door key and I put the same key in the transponder reader to start the engine and drive the car. I will return and hope I can find a product that works without going to Toyota.
