The FIRST thing you need to know is that many of the buttons on the remote control are practically useless, except for ON/OFF and volume. The rest of the buttons are an unreliable way to access the CR612. SECOND is that the front panel buttons are redundant as all (except for CD tray open/close) are duplicated in the HEOS app. HEOS stands for "Home Entertainment Operating System". Third, to access "all" the features of the M-CR612, you really need to have the HEOS app installed on your smartphone. HEOS on your phone is the only reliable way to access Internet RADIO. Without HEOS (free app and registration) the device is just an AM/FM radio and CD player. A NOTICE. If you turn off the device (for example, during a thunderstorm), internal storage and HEOS registration information will be reset. However, you can reset the registration after about 40 frustrating minutes or just continue using the HEOS app on your smartphone. The sound is good at high volume but seems to change a bit when tuned to one of the TUNEIN radios. CD performance is very good. The FM radio seems sensitive enough. My AM radio is just static no matter what I do in terms of AM antenna connection. Due to the frustration of HIRING and working without a smartphone, I would NOT recommend this to ANY friends unless they are ok with the hassles of the main job.
