This review is more about Olympus quality control standards than the M.Zuiko 7-14mm f2.8 Pro which by all accounts is one of the best MFT wide angle lenses . just on the market. As the name suggests, the lens came with one loose part, namely a plastic ring that fits over the outermost lens and whose purpose seems to be to cover some screws and otherwise seal the inside of the lens. dust lens. I reinstalled the ring and although 3 lugs come off it clearly intended to fill some gaps this never happened. Instead, I was able to rotate the ring about 1/3 of the way in either direction before it stopped without even engaging. I'm sure Olympus knows exactly how to set this ring properly, but I don't know, and I'm certainly not interested in paying $1300 for the privilege of working with this lens, which is likely a minor adjustment for one is a trained specialist. I tried to order a replacement lens through Revain's online replacement product system but "something went wrong" and all I can do now is request a refund and send the lens back. If this process goes smoothly and I can buy an interchangeable lens, I will update this review. At the moment I am very disappointed with my purchase.
