Firstly I have a lot of experience with routers, switches, modems, WAP etc. I was a bit wary of paying only 49.00 for a 3 gigabit port router/wifi. I was afraid you would get what you paid for. However, I didn't want to rob my bank to extend my WiFi 60 feet into my backyard. Please take a look at the photos I have included to help you with your decision. Also remember that not every home is created equal. Some of them are made of brick, plaster, wood, drywall, etc. Every home allows an "Xβ for signal range, no matter what WiFi device you have. I was able to save the following: My dedicated ISP speed is 600 Down and 30 Up (Mbps). I was able to support over 600 Mbps over a wired connection. Excellent result (see picture at 718 Mbps). Home WiFi allowed me to sustain speeds of 300Mbps on 2.4GHz and 420+ Mbps on 5.0GHz (via iPhone 10X). I found this really odd considering you usually get a strong signal through denser material at 2.4 and not 5.0. I've tried several times and this was the end result. It was also about 60 feet from the router/wi-fi running through plaster and brick. Outside of 5.0GHz, it was a consistent 220Mbps (via my iPhone 10X). This result was quite strange since I already said that 2.4GHz usually performs better than 5.0 through a stiffer house or building material. All in all, at 49.00 this Tenda device was a good deal. Again, I just wanted to extend my current WiFi range into my backyard. However, in none of the tests above 2.4 or 5.0 (GHz) did the speed exceed 450 Mbit/s. The specification clearly states 300 Mbit/s on 2.4 and almost 900 Mbit/s on 5.0. Indoors, it didn't even come close to 5.0 GHz. Look disappointing but not a deal breaker.
