Review on πŸ”ͺ Blendin SPB-456-2B Blender Cutting Assembly: Perfect Fit for Cuisinart PowerBlend Duet (BFP-10CH) – A Game-Changer for Efficient Blending! by Vanessa Johnson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Makes the glass taller than the original blade unit. Broke after 6 months of daily use. Definitely NOT from Cuisinart.

I bought this "Cuisinart SPB-456-2B Blender Spare Blade + 2 Cuisinart SPB-562-3 Blender Blade Gaskets INCLUDED! NEW!" sold by OD Outlet on July 24th 2014 Ca... two months ago (February 2015) it started dripping when I mixed something. At first I thought it was a gasket and tightened the base very tight but it kept leaking. When I unscrewed the toothed washer from below and removed the knife shaft, I saw a micro-crack in the black plastic collar. Since the 60 day warranty was long overdue, I tried to fix it by squeezing some polyurethane glue (gorilla glue) into the crack and pinching the crack by wrapping a piece of tape tightly around the collar until the glue hardened. It's still leaking. As with many other reviews, this blade assembly makes the entire blender jar sit higher than the original blade assembly. The round plastic base is raised at least 1/16 inch from the motor. I think that's why it's cracked; As it spins at incredibly high speeds, the paddle assembly must support the entire weight of the can and its contents on this small circular toothed washer, rather than the base transferring that load to the motor housing and making the can stable. For this reason I will be buying a new one directly from Cuisinart as it is definitely NOT made by Cuisinart. If that were the case, he wouldn't have picked up the can like that. Unless their manufacturing process and quality control is seriously flawed. However, poor quality is NOT what Cuisinart is known for. The original blade lasted me at least 7 years. I tried to save some money by ordering this $12.69 part directly from Cuisinart instead of the $22.50 part. Now I will lose over $40 after buying the right one from Cuisinart.com.
