A few years ago my husband received a set of these combs as a gift. He liked them so much I went back to buy him another set. We mainly use them for shrimp/grilled shrimp. Being able to put one on top of multiple teeth makes them flat and stable. With a regular skewer, the shrimp might turn or only some of them would turn and not cook evenly. The comb allows you to flip food while maintaining direction. No more twisting, both sides are cooked perfectly. It could fit 5 medium sized shrimp on one comb. Two combs isn't enough for our family of five as we prefer to cook and grill all the kebabs at once rather than in two "sessions". Combs are sized for one or two adult servings. I wish they were longer or came in a set of four for family portions. my two cents
