The key to our Lexus GX 460 is starting to age and is starting to loosen. Trying to find an easy way to replace it without paying a fortune got me looking for options. I'm looking at various key blanks with uncut keys that would cost a locksmith to cut like the original, which I didn't want to do. I stumbled across the replacement Stauber key fob and found that the electronics and key can be housed within the case with minimal fuss. When the replacement shell arrived it proved to be quite durable. I removed the electronics from the Lexus key fob and, using a small carpenter's chisel, carefully pulled out the T-crown key. I placed the electronics and key in the new case and tightened the four screws. The screws can be screwed in with little effort because they are self-tapping and punch through the plastic without steps. I evenly tightened them one at a time to avoid cracking the case and tearing off the plastic holding the screws. The key was firmly seated in the case and all of the buttons were flush with the top of the key fob. Tried the auto in both the door and ignition and it worked just as well as the original. For $10, this is the best choice to get the job done. The key was firmly seated in the case and all of the buttons were flush with the top of the key fob.
