Very compact scale. The weighing plate is actually small but there is a small ridge on the tray/protective cover to keep your item in place. I really wish it was bigger, but you can put a larger platter on the scale and tare it for more capacity. Everything I have weighed so far has been accurate enough for my needs. I've tried putting the same item on and off the scale over and over again to make sure it weighs the same every time. After about 30 weighings, the weight stayed the same, plus or minus about 0.05 grams. That's enough for my cooking in the kitchen. I also like the cover. I don't want things on the table, so I like that I can toss them in a drawer with other kitchen items when I'm not using them. So far, this scale has fully met my requirements.
